the ocean | kellie stamps

Good Morning!!!

Today I have a fun layout for you.  Our trip to Myrtle Beach was so much fun.  I took tons of photos of the beach.  The dunes, walking paths and waves.  I couldn't get enough.  The ocean has always been my second favorite place on the planet so every chance we get to go, I take it.

This page is all layers, stamping and coloring.  My other favorite things.  I used my watercolor pencils to "color" in the stamps and give them a little extra oompf.

Hope you have a lovely day...

loved | kellie stamps

Hello Everyone!

I'm here today to share another page with Kellie Stamps new release for August.

There is just something about a sleeping babe.  Even if they aren't really babies anymore.  This little munchkin turns 5 in just a few weeks.  Oh, and she starts school at the end of the month too.  Needless to say, I am soaking up every moment of this that I can.

simple stories | I Am + kellie stamps | Alpha Nut & Seriously?! stamps

I adore this kit by Simple Stories.  I have so much of it and use bits of it on a lot of my pages.  This time I thought it would be perfect for this photo of my sleepy love.  It is soft and delicate plus the little pops of gold are perfect.
The stamps from Kellie Stamps are equally perfect.  I love the block style of the letters I used for the word "loved."  I stamped them in black but as I added more touched of gold to the layout I realized they needed more.  I have an awesome gold paint pen and used it to color in the stamped letters.  That was the final touch this page needed.

What collection do you fall back on regularly? or do you prefer to use newer collections exclusively?

we were here | kellie stamps

Today's post is brought to you by Kellie Stamps and lots of caffeine.  I am dying to go back to the beach already but for now I am just reliving our trip from a few weeks ago while making some scrap pages.  I can still feel the sun and smell the salt in the air while I sit here typing this up.  That is what this hobby is all about to me.  Remembering the fun things we do as a family.

This page was made using my August Gossamer Blue kits and the newest set of stamps by Kellie Stamps.  This set is called "Seriously?" and is one of my absolute faves.

Lately I have been loving grid style layouts.  All the little pieces from the GB kits fit perfectly here making a very busy but photo-centric page.  This is absolutely my favorite photo from our beach trip.  I love it so much I may actually scrap it a few times.  haha

Hope you are having a lovely summer and have lots of time to put those memories to paper.  Don't forget to get on over to Kellie's store and pre-order your stamps.  They start shipping the 15th!

coffee | kellie stamps

Good morning!

I have another layout here with my favorite subject and my favorite stamps sets.  I am trying to lessen my obsession with coffee but so far it isn't really working.  My 3 cups a day habit is still going strong.  haha

This page was actually inspired by a page I saw at Studio Calico by Mana1 (here).  I love the simple design and the circles mimicking the coffee cup.  I made the large circle by placing a bowl over the area I planned to have the doily and the photo.  When tracing the bowl I kept in mind the spots I wanted to put the stamp and the word stickers.  I left those blank and hand drew the arrows and dots to fill in the extra space.
For the "coffee" stamp in the upper right corner I used my yellow colored pencil to create an ombre effect.  I like the little pop of color there.  Of course since I had yellow there and in the middle I decided to add it to the lower left stamp as well.  It created a nice flow around the page.

Aren't these pink paislee stars delicious?  I love the little gold veins in the cork.

This little coffee cup was just right for this spot.  I love that it also continues the subtle circle theme I had going.

Sometimes simple pages are just what I need to convey the thought I have in my head when creating a layout.  The focus is on the photo but little bits of things help make it interesting.  It certainly seems to work here.

brunch | kellie stamps

Hello all!  I have yet another page to share.  This has been a wonderfully busy month!
Today's page is a little different.  I decided to document my recent trip to Chick-Fil-A with the newest food stamp by Kellie Stamps : "Brunch" by making a "project life" style page.
Now, we don't eat out very much.  It's more of a hassle to wrangle my 3 children to dinner (or lunch) than it is to just make a meal.  This day was really special for my kids because they had certificates from VBS for free kids meals so I took them out.  It was pure chaos.  I think everyone had the same idea that we did to go out to lunch.  We, by sheer luck, actually found a parking space otherwise we were going to just go home.  haha  I am not comfortable with lots of people and I was ready to just drive off.  Oh the sacrifices I make for my children.

(Turns out, it was more of a sacrifice than I thought.  As much as I enjoyed this salad at the time, my stomach did not love it over the next four days.  It was not pretty.)

In spite of my discomfort, the kids had a fantastic time and I had something to put in my little "book of me".

rise and grind | kellie stamps

Coffee, one of my daily requirements for adulting.  My family has learned that if mama doesn't have  a mostly empty cup in her hand, don't talk to her.  haha  Ok, maybe it isn't THAT bad but I do need that one cup before I do much else,  I love the smell, the taste, the feel of the warm cup in my hand...all of the things that come with that first cup.  So of course, when Kellie Stamps came out with this fabulous new stamp set, I had to make an entire page all about my favorite food group.  Yes, coffee is a food group.  I don't care what anyone else says.  :)

One more announcement | Kellie Stamps

I have one more announcement to make this month.  From July-September I will be working with Kellie Stamps.  I have been a fan for a while so when she asked if I would like to join the team (after a call) I of course said yes.  Kellie is a fabulous scrapper as well as an amazing stamp designer so working for her and with the other members of this fabulous team is going to be so much fun.

Head on over to Kellie's blog to find out where to follow the rest of these lovely ladies (and kellie).  They are all amazing.  I cannot wait to spend the next few months working along side and being inspired by them .

To see my sneaks of her upcoming stamps follow me on IG or on my FB page.  I will share full images here on my blog and at SC or scrapbook.com.
