september blog hop | gossamer blue

Good morning all and welcome to this months Gossamer Blue blog hop.

This months kits were just amazing.  One of my absolute favorites to date.

This page is also one of my favorites.

I have to give you a little back story on this photo from a hike we took around a little lake near our house.  She was in such a hurry to get back to the car to eat lunch.  In creating this page I was actually using a bit of sarcasm.  She is not my adventurous child at all.  She doesn't like bugs and freaked out at all the noises when we were walking.  Not to say she had no fun at all, she was just done.  In spite of that, I did truly love that moment when I saw her walking ahead and forging her own little path.  She is herself no matter what and I love that.

That's it from me today.  Head on around the rest of the girls blogs to continue to be inspired.  Each one of these ladies on the list has something amazing for you.  You won't be disappointed!

i love right now | gossamer blue

Good Morning!

I have a fun page for you today made with the September Main Kit from Gossamer Blue.  This kit is seriously gorgeous.  It is so full of whimsy.
This page was literally thrown together by just cutting out papers and seeing how I could fit them on the page.  Sometimes I like to be random like that.  haha  In the end I loved how it came out.  It is ver different for me but I felt it suited the photo really well.

Have you ever just randomly made a page without thought or plan?  How did it turn out?  I'd love to see!

beach babe | page maps and gossamer blue

Hello!
Today's post is really fun.  We at Gossamer Blue had the opportunity to work with Page Maps sketches and our August kits.  I LOVE using the page maps sketches to help me find my mojo when it is gone or just even to just stretch my creativity.

The sketch I got to use is this one here.

Now for my page.  I followed pretty close to the design this time.  I love the "banner" of photos across the page.  Of course the Gossamer Blue kits were perfect for the sketch and my beach photos from last year.

Using these sketches takes the planning and the guessing out a scrapbook page.  Sometimes that is just what I need to get the juices flowing again.  This one will be one I go back to again someday.

Head on over to Page Maps to see the other pages from their creative team and the Gossamer Blue creative team.  There are so many awesome ones this month.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Hope your day is fantastic!

coffee | kellie stamps

Good morning!

I have another layout here with my favorite subject and my favorite stamps sets.  I am trying to lessen my obsession with coffee but so far it isn't really working.  My 3 cups a day habit is still going strong.  haha

This page was actually inspired by a page I saw at Studio Calico by Mana1 (here).  I love the simple design and the circles mimicking the coffee cup.  I made the large circle by placing a bowl over the area I planned to have the doily and the photo.  When tracing the bowl I kept in mind the spots I wanted to put the stamp and the word stickers.  I left those blank and hand drew the arrows and dots to fill in the extra space.
For the "coffee" stamp in the upper right corner I used my yellow colored pencil to create an ombre effect.  I like the little pop of color there.  Of course since I had yellow there and in the middle I decided to add it to the lower left stamp as well.  It created a nice flow around the page.

Aren't these pink paislee stars delicious?  I love the little gold veins in the cork.

This little coffee cup was just right for this spot.  I love that it also continues the subtle circle theme I had going.

Sometimes simple pages are just what I need to convey the thought I have in my head when creating a layout.  The focus is on the photo but little bits of things help make it interesting.  It certainly seems to work here.

adventure awaits | gossamer blue

Good morning friends!  I have my first page for Gossamer Blue to share with you today.  As soon as I got my kits and saw the circle stickers by Evaliscous and the buttons by Shimelle, I knew just what I wanted to do for this page.
My trusty silhouette came out and lots of circles in different sizes were cut to be layered together.

TIP:  I put 4 of the 6x6 papers on my mat and used photoshop to set up the different cuts on a 12x12 sheet before cutting.  That way I could cut all of them at once.  It allowed me to see what sizes were being cut for each pattern of paper, too.  It made for much easier layering when it came time to put the page together.

That is it for this post but I will have two more pages to share with you soon!
