drawing in my notebook

This past weekend my parents met us in North Carolina for a short catch up vacation.  We had not seen each other since we moved from New Mexico over 18 months ago.  That was a long time to go without a visit.  Ordinarily I would see them every few months, several times a year.  Needless to say we made the most of the trip.

While on our trip I pulled out my travelers notebook, a pencil and an erasure to draw a little.  It was good therapy and a welcome break from a nasty bit of an artists block.
(In fact, the week before the trip it seemed to come back to me in a flood. In fact, I painted two small acrylics, water colored some and even made a bracelet.  It was so nice.)

Anyway, here are the pages I doodled on the trip.  I think these will be scanned and used for posters and other graphic art later.  I kinda love them.

I'm not sure what the random cactus was all about but for some reason I just felt like drawing some.  That happens.  haha

So, that is it for today.  Now to head of and unpack so I can be creative again later.

Have a wonderful day,

read

Good Morning!
Wow it has been a long time since I have posted anything here.  It has been so busy lately.  The end of school, the last bit of little league and summer starting about kicked out all my creative mojo.  I am slowly getting back into crafting and painting.  It feel really good.

For today I am sharing this little page of my tiny ready a book to her fox.  I was pretty impressed with the stories she was making up to go with the photos.  What an imagination she had.

Citrus Twist "Driftwood" and Add-On + The Cut Shoppe cut file

I absolutely loved this triangle cut file.  I actually cut the whole 12x12 page out but only used a small strip for this page.  I wanted to keep it a little bit more simple with the bright busy patterns I was using on the rest of the page.
Oh and I am pretty sure that little bird in my fave.  It was so hard not to just hoard it for it's cuteness.

Well, that is it for today.  Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!

Travel Journal Part 1

Hey all!

A few weeks ago my husband and I took a trip alone for the first time in a very long time.  We visited Philly, New York and Niagara Falls over the course of a week.  We spent 2 days in each place.  It wasn't long enough.  haha

I knew I wanted to document it simply because I LOVED all my photos.  I didn't want to take anything away from them.  (All of these were shot with an iphone 5s and edited with VSCO cam)

When I got home I printed all the photos in 3x4 bordered format.
(The journal is a Recollections TN from Michaels and the book is a Moleskine Cahier in black.)

This first part of the book is from our Philly portion of the trip.  We stayed at a quaint little bed and breakfast just about a block from the Italian Market.  It was amazing.  Our room had a balcony with a view of the Philly skyline.  At night it was all lit up so pretty.

3/27 sketch at Citrus Twist

Good morning all!

Today I have another page using the March Main and embellishment kit.  When I saw the sketch I knew I was going to have to make something with it.  The layout is right up my alley.  It also pushed me to use more than one photo.  That doesn't happen very often on my pages.

Head on over to the CTK blog to see the sketch and Aimee's page with it.  Don't forget that there is a prize to be won for using it.

Citrus Twist March pages.

Good morning!
It has been a while since I posted here.  Unfortunately our household got with with a couple of lovely illnesses.  I think we are finally getting back on track.

I did manage to make 3 pages this month so far though.

This first page was for the 3/5 Three to Inspire challenge on the Citrus Twist blog.

These next two were just for fun.

How pretty is this paper?  It is my favorite.

FREE PL 3x4 vertical card Printable.

Hello all!

This week I decided I needed some cards for my January PL spreads but didn't have time to go out and find what I was looking for.  I made my own instead.  Now you guys get to have them.  They are set on an 8 1/2 X 11 page with cut guides around them to make it easier to cut on your own.  You could also set them to be a print and cut with your silhouette if you wanted.

Anyway, here you go.

If you use them, I would love to see your pages.  Comment here with a link so I can leave you some love.
