succulents

I have wanted to have my own cute little succulent planter for a long time.  I never really found one that I liked, though.  While strolling target the other day I finally found one.  It is small and looks a bit like a glass birds nest.

Isn't it adorable?  I have a feeling it will be a prop in at least one scrap project shoot.

#myselfiescrapbook | week 1

The other day I was scrolling through instagram and found a photo with this tag #myselfiescrapbook on one of my fave IG'rs (@giveagirlablog) photos.  Of course I had to check it out.  While reading the original post I was intrigued and decided to give it a try.  I already have a little "about me" book going so I figured this would just fit right in. I am super behind and still working on week one.  I may try to play catch-up and do more than one photo a day.  We will see.
For now, here are my first 4 photos scrapped.

Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy : Interactive Layout

I have a second post for Pink Paislee today!  This one is on their blog though.  Head over there to see how I made a little flip album on a layout.

Teeny Tiny Dollhouse | Bella Rouge Project

So today my little girl asked if we could make a dollhouse with my Silhouette Cameo.  Can't say no to that!  I knew that the Bella Rouge Collection from Pink Paislee would be perfect.  She loves Pink and Black together so I grabbed up the Rainbow Bright paper.  The one with the unicorns on one side and the black and white pattern on the other.  I love that the opposite patterns really compliment each other with this little house.  She is playing with her little mini Mooshka doll pets in it now.  The best way to spend the afternoon with my little munchkin.

We used pattern #26903 by A Little Hut in the Silhouette Store.  I didn't have a mat long enough for the original size so I sized it to fit a 12x12 sheet of paper.

Confetti | loved this happy day layout

I still have a lot of photos that came out of the frames on my walls.  They are all so pretty and I have a hard time deciding which ones to scrap next.  This time I laid out a few and asked my kids to chose my next photo.  This is the one they liked most.  I am pretty sure this was from when my littlest one was two.  This is one of my favorite photos of her and her brother.  So much love.

They are not always happy.  They don't always behave or obey.  They certainly do not always clean their rooms or do their chores when asked.  Still, my heart is happy to be their mama.  I am grateful every day for my children.  Even when they frustrate me.  All I need do is think back on moments like this to remember the good stuff they are made of.

Confetti | A Personal Challenge

Well, it has been a while.  We are finally moved and mostly settled in to our new home in Virginia.  I LOVE my new home.  For now we are renting but I will say that leaving this house is going to be very hard.  I have always wanted to live in a house with an upstairs, downstairs and a basement.  It is a very real dream come true.  Although I have a few boxes that I am slowly cleaning out, the majority of our stuff has been unpacked.  It's been 2 weeks since we got here so I figure I'm doing ok on the unpacking part.  In a couple days I am going to have a post up with photos of our trip, the new house and life since we got here.  We have been to the DC Zoo, driven by most of the monuments and explored Woodbridge a bit.  The kids are in school and life is pretty much back to normal.  Except for my scrapbook stuff.  That is all still in boxes.  It is sad.  Next week I will be on the lookout for some bookshelves and pieces of wood to paint to make a desk and storage for myself.  For now I am still scrapping on the dining room table.
I have a few DT projects in the works but last night I just wanted to scrap for me.  I am sure if you look at any of my pages you will see that most of my pages have small photos and a lot of white space.  My challenge to myself was to use one of my 4x6 photos from my photo wall to make a page.  I took all the photos out of my frames and replaced them with new ones so I had a pile of perfectly pretty photos to choose from.  This one is a favorite from when my youngest was 2.  She and that bear are still inseparable.

It was fun to step outside my comfort zone and reawaken my creativity with the large photo challenge.
Have you tried something new lately?  Do it!  It's really fun!
